There are three different bands with the name The Glow under this artist profile. Hailing from Quincy, MA, The Glow play a melodious blend of mainly soulful indie, with some two-tone influences, along with some alternative rock. Featuring an organ in all of their songs, they set themselves apart from other indie bands that are usually clumped together. Catchy music and heartfelt lyrics complete the equation, creating the sound that is The Glow. The second band called The Glow was conceived in Brooklyn NYC. They play a weird trippy mix of 60's and 70's Rock n Roll, Soul, Glam and R&B. Simon and Nakia Black incant their favorite bands LOVE, T. Rex, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Ike and Tina, Motown, 13th Floor Elevators, The Damned, Stooges, Tommy James and Bowie into their own innocent almost naive rendition. With Bass, Guitar, and whatever other instrument they can get someone to play whether drums or organ, these two cosmic children have a sound that is new but old, strange but welcome, aggressive at times yet amorous. They are The Glow of Brooklyn. You can find a 45" release from them in late 2007 overseas, distributed in the Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, Denmark and London.
