Based out of Albany, NY, the getdown have emerged as one of the area’s most engaging original bands. Working from their eclectic take on funk/soul/neo-R&B; music, the getdown serve up a unique collection of imaginative, groove-heavy songs. Performances by the group are fueled by head-bobbin’ beats, tight instrumental interplay, and soulful, melodic vocals. The group’s old and new school influences certainly shine through, but the getdown sound remains distinctively their own.
