Rising out of the still waters of Brown County Ohio, The Gambling District formed in 2005. The band began creating intimate and energetic songs that people could relate to. Coming from a vast variety of musical backgrounds and influences such as Jimmy Eat, World, Jim Croce, Queen, My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan, and this allowed The Gambling District to find a unique sound to call their own. Consisting of upbeat melodies, passionate lyrics, and innovative song writing, they blend soul and rock into one unique experience. Recently, they have been building a mainstay fan base in Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. As well, they have established a strong presence in the Cincinnati local music scene. The Gambling District has had the privilege of performing with national bands such as: Lovedrug(Columbia Records), The Audition(Victory Records), and The Spill Canvas(111 Records), The Honorary Title(Doghouse Records), Portugal the Man(Fearless Records), and The Whigs(ATO Records). The Gambling District worked their way to the finals of one of the countries largest independent music festivals, Emergenza. Independently, the band created a seven song demo to raise money for studio time at Jordan’s Recording Studio in Covington, KY and The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH, where they produced and completed a four track CD.
