The Furbelows refers to two bands: 1) The gypsy-jazz and swing band from Melbourne, Australia. The Furbelows have a three-part harmony vocals from Kelsey James, Lisa Salvo, Georgie Darvidis, guitars from Sam O'Halloran and Jon Delaney, and Double Bass by Mark Elton. Previous members include Arlene Fletcher (double bass). The Furbelows are the ultimate 1930s party band. A combination of three-part close-harmony vocals and the hot swinging acoustic guitars of wartime Paris, they have developed a strong following based on their joyful, exuberant, and rollicking live performances. The Furbelows have taken this exciting melange to venues across Melbourne and around Australia, including shows at White Night, The Famous Spiegeltent, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, MONA, OzManouche Jazz Festival, Bellingen Jazz Festival, Frankie Magazine’s 10 year anniversary show, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, The Paris Cat, and many popular residencies as a part of Fitzroy’s vibrant traditional jazz scene. The launched their debut album 'I sing on the cake' on 30 May 2015 and have an ongoing residency at Grumpy's in Collingwood. 2) a south London band formed in 2007 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
