The Freed Unit Hailing from Leicestershire, United Kingdom, The Freed Unit deliver a diverse, adventurous, experimental, art-pop sound, with a quintessentially English feel. The 'Unit' formed in 1996, and have released numerous 7” singles, E.P.s, and CD albums over the years. Their single Widdershins was placed at No. 31 in John Peel’s 1998 Festive Fifty. Although known for their quirky sound, they are equally prolific in creating enigmatic, complimentary music video’s for their releses. Their winter ‘seasonal’ single Winter Solstice (The Snowman Came Inside) was released as a 1 track DVD in 2006, as well as an iTunes download.
