The Flux Komplex is an experimental electro project, blending various sounds and styles, from Trip Hop, Electro Beats, Electro Wave to industrial and dark wave. There are no limits of what elements that might be blended into the music of The Flux Komplex. The Flux Komplex was started around March 2003 as a unity with Karsten Hamre as the only permanent member, but with the intention of having it as a unity for collaborations with other artists, artists that would come and go as seen fit. The first collaboration undertaken was with Ioan Barladeanu a.k.a. Cycler. This started as Ioan and Karsten were asked to participate at Periferic 6 – Prophetic Corners (the biennal for contemporary art in Iasi, Romania). The organizers approached Ioan and Karsten to participate with music for an art installation called “SHOP”, a project by the Scandinavian art group N55 (www.n55.dk). The music which were created could be heard at the venue the “SHOP” installation was hosted, at the Turkish Bath in Iasi. In addition to participating with the music creation, a limited edition CD-R of 20 copies in a hand made A5 Carton cover was made. 10 of these copies were available to the public, through the shop concept (8 for trade and 2 for borrowing). The remaining 10 copies were spread to the organizers of Periferic 6 (four copies), the N55 group (four copies) and the two last were kept by the artists themselves.
