The Fluf. Kinda hard to describe really. The ever changing line up has seen a number of different formations and sounds. Back in 1997 guitarist Andy Screen started writing along with Jim Bardgett as a bit of fun. After a while Jim took up his role on the bass and after a number of drummers (Hannah, Will, Olli, Lee & Kevin & Jake on bass for a bit before Jim took over) and a few sketchy art college gigs, Sketch Parker was found. After some practice it was time to hit the pubs n clubs in the local area playing plenty of d.i.y gigs with hardcore punk band Violent Basket. To liven the whole thing up vocalist K-Ball and key player Pete joined the ranks creating a skacore Fluf with influences from Rancid to Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The power of a 3 pc horn section was added with Ash D on trumpet, Jason D on alto sax and Jack on tenor sax to bring out the ska feel and funk it all up some what in summer 03. The FluF took part in a covers competition @ Flicks night club, playing as the Specials where they finished joint 2nd out of 8 bands and then came 3rd as Green Day in a follow up comp. They recorded and co produced, along side s24, their own demo, ‘The crafty squirrel EP’ on a mini disk 4-track recorder supplied by New Deal for Musicians, which has had 2 tracks taken from it on the Anarchy Records compilation. Their first studio EP, recorded @ Frequency Studio’s in Somerton, Somerset with old friend Ben Axford was paid for with money earn from gigging. They also released a
