about

The Fireman is an English experimental music duo consisting of Paul McCartney and Youth, formed in 1993. Their work spans styles from rock to electronica and has evolved over more than two decades across three albums. Although the duo was officially anonymous until 2008, their identities became known to the public shortly after the release of their first album. The Fireman released their debut album, "Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest," in 1993, followed by "Rushes" in 1998. In 2000, Youth contributed to McCartney's project "Liverpool Sound Collage," which shared a similar experimental approach. The duo’s most recent album, "Electric Arguments," was released on November 24, 2008, by the label One Little Independent. This album marked the first time the duo included vocals, mostly performed by McCartney, and featured more traditional song structures. In June 2008, a track from the album, "Lifelong Passion (Sail Away)," was offered as a limited-edition download to fans supporting the charity Adopt-A-Minefield. In February 2009, Sirius XM launched Fireman Radio, a temporary channel dedicated to the duo’s music.
