The Files & Fires is Tyler J. Smith, Ian Tait, Michael Howard, Peter Recine, and Dan Semenza. Formed in Connecticut in late 2006 by Smith and Tait, the two have been joined by (and left by) a number of outside musicians; currently performing live with drummer bassist Danny Semenza, guitarist Peter Recine, and violinists Emily Call, and Jenny Moffet. The group released their self-engineered debut EP, Like Ivy, in 2008 and recently released another album "For People Talk Lightly..." in the spring of 2011. The Files & Fires are in a similar vein as groups like Explosions in The Sky and The Album Leaf. They have shared the stage with The Album Leaf, Kira Kira, Lymbyc Systm, The American Dollar, Killimanjaro, and more.
