The Fainting Generals are a five-piece vintage rock band specializing in historical re-enactments, rock operas characterizing Constitutional amendments, and, of course, the usual boy/girl stuff. They're from Grand Rapids, MI and led by the classically trained, though not practiced, Juliet Benett Rylah. Genres Include but are not limited to: Surf Rock, Glam, British Invasion, Motown, Americana "The band's music, which takes low-fi in a new, somewhat-haunting direction." John Sinkevics, The Grand Rapids Press "For those who have not had the chance to hear The Fainting Generals, the best way to describe them would be to imagine what would happen if sounds of the The Velvet Underground slept with vocals of the Go-Go’s Belinda Carlisle. Lead singer Juliet Bennett Rylah’s voice has never sounded rawer, and in this case, it is what fans have come to enjoy about their live shows. The new release, which arrived just hours before my deadline, is full of exciting lyrics that are sure to tickle the ears of the indie fans of this town."
