The Fabulous Pharoahs were from Newark, Delaware. The orginial band formed in 1964 were Ed Stevenson on drums and lead singer, Bill Rylander on guitar, Bobby Walker on bass, Fred Dawson on sax and keyboards and Aubrey Fisher on lead guitar and vocals. Ed, Fred and Aubrey lived in Todd Estates, Bill in Brookside and Bobby was from Bridgeville De. Bobby Walker left the band early 1965 and Bill Rylander took over bass. The bands first record was recorded in WNRK studios, a local radio station in December of 1965. Later in the fall of 1966, the band again recorded in WNRK studios, this time doing a remake of Somtimes and Talking About You. Ed was very sick at the time, it can be heard in the vocals, but the band played on. The Pharoahs were playing all over the East Coast, from West Virginia to Vermont. In early 1967 the Pharoahs recorded for the last time as the orginial four. A remake of, Sometimes I Think About and a original called, Hold Me Tight. Hold Me Tight was written by all four members of the band. It was arranged by Aubrey Fisher and he played and sang on the record. It was recorded in Philadelphia at Cameo Pa
