The Einmarsch is the freshest out of Copenhagen, Denmark´s urban electrojazz scene. Tav Klitgaard aka The Einmarsch has been around the circuit for some time exploring the outer and inner boundaries of music, working with different electronica and jazz acts, among others Malkin Zany, Slow Train Soul, Senor Coconut, Lucie Baines, Nobody Beats The Beats, Rasmus Möbius and Melk. The record Howls! was recorded over a period of two years, and contains contributions from a fine blend of Danish musicians known from the hip hop, jazz and electronica scene. New beats from alive as well as late drummers, basses and keys from whoever was around the studio on that particular day, all produced by The Einmarsch. As lo-fi as DJ Shadow, as hi density as Jaga Jazzist and as VSOP as Prefuse 73, this highly modern, yet ear-caressing candy comes dripping into your brains. It’s in the cross-ever between the man and the machine that we find The Einmarsch. Sometimes hand-played in the electronic way and sometimes generic in the human way, but this is always real music from real skilled musicians. Live the combo consists of four musicians elaborating on the grooves and hip beats from the records. Where Howls! sometimes requires rather patient ears, the live set-up features cool beats for cool people, and everybody can join in – dancing or listening or drinking.
