The Earlies is a UK/US band formed by Christian Madden and Giles Hatton from Lancashire, England, and Brandon Carr and John Mark Lapham from Texas, United States. The band is notable for blending elements from a wide range of musical genres from folk-psychedelia to Beach Boys harmonies. The band went on hiatus in 2008 and reformed in 2015. The band's first album, These Were The Earlies, released in 2004 on Names records, features chilled tracks such as One of Us Is Dead to the country psychedelia like Morning Wonder. Their second album, The Enemy Chorus, was released in 2007. In 2008, Carr went took an indefinite break from the band to teach at ATEMS High School in Abilene, Texas. In 2015, after a long hiatus, The Earlies returned with new material. An EP, Message from Home, was released the same year.
