De Dutch Boys (later, with an English article, The Dutch Boys) was a Dutch party/novelty trio from the village of Zwartemeer, The Netherlands, comprising Henk de Roo, Jans Hoogeveen and Cor Maatje and best known for their Dutch chart hits 'Boer Harms' (#10 in 1982) and 'Amerika en Olde Pekela' (#20 in 1983). Most of their songs were sung in the regional dialect of the Dutch province of Drenthe. The Dutch Boys were active between 1972 an 2024, on and off, as a party act, especially in the eastern parts of The Netherlands. Henk de Roo was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in the fall of 2024. He passed in December 2024, aged 69. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
