Prague, Czech Republic (2006 - present) The Drain is an indie garage rock band formed in the Czech Republic in 2006 by the songwriter and singer Daniel Subrt who rounded up members of three Czech bands with different musical and religious opinions, trying to combine the styles they used to play in their previous bands (hard rock, rock'n'roll, blues, heavy metal and grunge). After a smooth assimilation they came to a kind of common speech and their music could take off. In January 2007 was released their first promo EP "Che Guevara, Robin Hood" containing four songs and they soon started to perform in several Czech clubs (mostly in South Bohemia and Prague). Thanks to the positive acceptation of the fans Drain got a chance to support a few more or less popular bands, which brought them fine success by the Czech audience. At the beginning of their first regular Czech club tour called "Higher than my EGO tour" they made a little change in the personal way and accepted Michael L. Horejsi (The Fox) on the bass guitar instead of Vladimir Malinsky. Soon began Michael an irreplaceable member of the band, bringing new breeze to the backwater of The Drain's thought content. Their first tour unexpectedly met with a great success and Drain ended on the 2nd place in a chart on a music server i-legalne.cz (something like Czech I-Tunes).
