Artist
Craig Snape, AKA The Doomsday Device, really gets the whole post-punk, mid-eighties british underground sound. The self-released Mr Doomsday certainly pays homage to the likes of The Chameleons, The Stranglers, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Teardrop Explodes - yet does this in a very fresh and contemporary way. Occasionally, with tracks like Crazy, Craig introduces a whispery and melancholy homage to 60s psychedelia similar to Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd yet weaving in some very fresh Joy Division/New Order keyboards. Tasty indeed. Welcome to My World is likely the most successful track in capturing the subtle, yet ominous sound that set the stage for so many rising stars during the 80s british salad days.
