Before Griftegård three original members of this Swedish doom metal band, being Ola Blomkvist, Per Broddeson (also active in Year of the Goat) and Dennis Olsson, were active in the band The Doomsday Cult, This band recorded two demos during their existence; ‘Samaritans of Misery’ from 2002 and ‘A Language for Sad Spirits’ from 2004. Both albums have now posthumously been released in remastered form with the never released before track ‘A Saint Without God’ and an alternative version of ‘Like Leafs They Fall’, which is the opener of the first demo, added.
