There are 2 groups named The Donkey Show. 1. The Donkey Show was a third wave ska band that was active in the late 1980s in San Diego and Los Angeles. The Donkey Show's members consisted of Kim Clift and Ray Campbell on vocals, Dave Hillyard on saxophone, Stanley "Bronco" Farwell on trombone, Rob Dominguez on percussion, Matt Parker on Farfisa organ, Kent Graves on drums, Tom Zambrano on bass, and Chris "Creedy" Bates on guitar. They performed concerts in various cities in California, and toured the US twice. They were one of the first bands in the third wave ska movement, and they appear in a Ska Parade documentary video. Members of The Donkey Show backed Buster Bloodvessel of Bad Manners on a California tour as Buster's All-Stars. Ska Parade producers Albino Brown and Tazy Phyllipz (along with Gerald Lokstadt of Spot Productions) arranged for The Skatalites saxman Roland Alphonso to make his first solo trip to California in 1989 to perform with The Donkey Show. One former member of The Donkey Show, Dave Hillyard, was also in the band Hepcat, and is now in The Slackers. Kent and Creedy went on to play in Unsteady, another California ska band of significance during the late'90s. Matt Parker played with The Adjusters, a political soul and ska band in Chicago. The Donkey Show has been one of the earliest pioneers of 3rd Wave Ska; and many of its members have progressed through the ranks of, recorded with, and toured in today's hottest ska bands.
