The Donkeyshots combine an intoxicating blend of hard Rock and Gypsy romance, with a pinch of Balkan and Ska/Punk. Drastic, unpredictable rhythm, tempo and style changes meet eccentric brasstirades, powerful guitarlicks and a rich variety of grooves. Complemented by an interplay of expressive shouting and fragile vocals from their Bulgarian frontman, The Donkeyshots create an orderly chaos, both carefully thought out and at the same time playfully experimental. The Donkeyshots got together in 2002. At that time the band consisted of eight members and primarily played Ska-Punk. In 2007 they decided that a change had to be made, so they seized the opportunity to go in a different direction. Five of the orginal eight members now remain. The new sound that dissociates from the Ska-Punk that characterized The Donkeyshots in the first five years and become much harder and experimental. Different influences from Balkan/Gipsy, Polka, Latin, Rock and (Nu-)Metal were added to the mix and for the last two years, The Donkeyshots have worked on new songs, reinventing themselves after eight-years of self-discovery. Their sound is now entering it‘s next chapter, with the release of their new album „Chasing Windmills“ (Released on 30.10.2009 Finest Noise / Fragemento) one that explores the concepts of compromised ethics, change and nostalgia. With so many bands tailoring their sound to fit mainstream genres, The Donkeyshots‘ multifaceted style is a refreshing and unique mix that has left
