Artist
Vladislav Delay, Antye Greie (also known as AGF), and Craig Armstrong collaborated to form a musical group called "The Dolls". Their collaboration resulted in the 2005 album "The Dolls", which featured a blend of Delay's electronic soundscapes, Greie's vocals and lyrics, and Armstrong's piano work. The trio also performed live, including at the Serralves Festival and the Triptych Festival. The project began with Armstrong inviting Greie to collaborate on his 2002 album, As If To Nothing, according to the artist's website. Delay later joined them, and they explored musical ideas together, including treating a Steinway piano digitally in Delay's studio. The collaboration was described as an exploration of both soothing and child-like qualities in music, aiming to create something that could soothe frayed nerves and also be cathartic. The Dolls' music is characterized by a blend of Delay's experimental electronic textures, Greie's unique vocal delivery and lyrics, and Armstrong's piano compositions and arrangements.
