The Direction Called Down is an experimental avant-garde emo band formed in late 2006/early 2007. They began writing and recording music in this time period, with plans to make a full length album. However, they were put on an indefinite hiatus following a general lack of interest on the members' parts, and the project seemed to be put to rest with five song released, one of them a minor single ("I Think I Left the Oven On (Or Was It Hulk Hogan!!!") In the month of September, 2007, interest seemed to have sparked in the band once again. New music was being written, and the band will re-emerge into the emo scene with a single and accompanying music video for "Mom's Minivan (Less Conformist Than the Bus), along with the prospect of "much more to come". The Deprecceleration album project will be restarted, with a definite promise of new artwork and a new song list, and possibly even a new title. Recently rumors of five short "demo songs" written as a solo effort by one of the two musicians in the band have been circulating, although no word has been given on the existence of these songs. While no official date can be given, a very reliable inside source has stated this: "The album will definitely be done by the end of this year. If this doesn't fall through, February at the latest.
