"The Deficient is France’s best kept secret." This kind words come from none other than the legendary Tommie Sunshine. Yannick Gazzola (aka The Deficient) had not foreseen what was coming when he started the project “The Deficient”. He was already producing and dj-ing since one year when he decided to start this new adventure. At the beginning of 2009, The Deficient was born. With an early buzz created by its remixes of Mr Oizo, Lil Wayne or even SebastiAn (which got support from SebastiAn himself, Busy P and Pone & Lil Mike from Birdy Nam Nam to nam just a few), he catched the attention of label such as Idiot House, Crux Records or RuNT Recordings (where he released his two first EPs) and quickly got support from the like of Rico Tubbs or Acid Jacks. Next to these official releases, he kept producing unofficial remixes for blog and music lovers, and catched the attention from no-less than Tocadisco, Hannah Holland, Tommie Sunshine or even Larry Tee. His remix of Major Lazer’s Pon de Floor got huge suport and even reached the 42.000 views on Youtube. Since this time, he produced tracks and remixes in many genres from techno to electro house and it allowed him to get released on famous label such as Ultra Recording or OneLove for his infamous Tommie Sunshine’s remix. All this activity helped him to get support from A-class DJs and producers such as Congorock, Steve Aoki, Sinden or even Andy George & Jaymo (who played his James Crone’s remix on their radioshow for the worl
