The Deadpool

The Deadpool (now split up), originally called Vicodin and Me, was a straight-edge metalcore band hailing from Barrie, Ontario, Canada. They formed in 2005 after 3 of the original members wanted to take their music from the garage to the stage. The band consisted of: Chris Killingsworth on vocals Cody Meskey on guitar Chris Harrington on guitar Cody Ness on drums Matt Sergi on bass Their mix of heavy breakdowns, melodic riffs, and guitar solos gave them a unique sound influenced by bands such as Liferuiner and Emmure. They played shows with the likes of Liferuiner, Social Code, Flashlight Brown, and Lions. They were a strong staple in the Barrie music scene, eventually getting gigs all over Southern Ontario. Their first release was a 6 song EP entitled "Brace Yourself, You've Been Murdered" which was completed in December 2005. Their debut full-length was entitled "My Life, My War", which was released summer 2006. The band was very independent, putting on many of their own shows, paying for recording and merchandise themselves, and promoting their band anywhere they could.
