Production: Kevin Smith. Kevin's dj career began in 1994 in his home town of Charleston, SC, where he promoted events with friends as "groovers afterhours." The name stems from the venue Kevin and his partner Russ opened "Groovers" in 1994. He and Russ next played weekends at Channel Red for a coule of years, then migrated to Aberations, which was a three story cave-type club, formerly the Treehouse, Charleston's first gay/straight/underground dance club. These were the rave days. Anyone who has been involved in electronic music in Charleston for over 12 years started and was first exposed to it at the Treehouse. After moving to Boston in 1997, Kevin began djing more club events and operated an online pre-release vinyl website...and going to law school, later to become a trial lawyer. Kevin began producing tracks in 2000 and has recently teamed up with Arturo Gomez and Rick Preston. Together they are found under the name Duwayne Motley, and are working on a number of projects.
