The Cool Academy is the musical pairing of rapper EIBE and producer J.Envy. Hailing from North Texas, the duo blends a number of styles of hip-hop to create their own. With their debut EP, Speechless (free on GeniusMindedMusic.com), they are about to bust onto the underground hip-hop scene. Lyrically, The Cool Academy is anything but typical. EIBE is highly critical of the status quo in hip-hop and frequently discusses some of its problem on tracks. Other songs are very personal and reflective. Whatever the subject, EIBE is a lyrical force to be reckoned with. The beats provided by J.Envy are equally diverse. A great fan of all music styles, Envy incorporates elements of classical, beat-boxing, and rock music. He works with guitars, keyboards, drum machines, samples, and so on. As a pair, The Cool Academy is set to lead the new class of hip-hop and put North Texas on the hip-hop map. EIBE & J.Envy are also working on their own independent label, Genius Minded Music.
