The Contra was a hardcore punk band from Bellingham, WA from the mid to late 2000's. With hard and aggressive yet subtly complex songs driving their thoughtful and relevant lyrics, The Contra was able to say what they wanted, and play it with the energy for which they became known. They made all of their merch themselves and truly personified the diy punk band. With lyrics that attempt to educate and not assimilate, The Contra writes as objectively as possible about world events. They believe that everyone has the right to make up their own mind and should explore many more avenues than just the lyrics of a punk band.
