about

The Comedy are an alternative rock band hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. On an eerie Montreal night in November 2010, four friends decided to get together and start a band. Pasquale D’Alessio, Mitchell Brown, Tom Fellows, and Costa Kalafatidis went to high school together, and through a series of late night jams, classic male bonding, and promising song developments, The Comedy was formed. Brought together by a love of music, pop culture and nonstop banter, The Comedy holed up in their West Island home studio and began working on their debut album, Deadlights. The result was a melodic and catchy, yet dark and haunting collection of songs. D’Alessio’s classically trained vocals soar over both his and Brown’s swirling, delayed guitars, with Fellows’ and Kalafatidis’ precise rhythm section providing a solid foundation for the self-proclaimed “madness”. Finding influence in alternative rock heavyweights such as Radiohead, The National & Arcade Fire, The Comedy strives to bring a new style to the table, both in studio and live. Whether it’s spending meticulous hours in studio finding the perfect tone, or setting up mics in a church to record a live pipe organ, the boys of The Comedy strive to make a lasting impression on the indie / alternative scene. They have played gigs around Montreal, including a sold out show at CFC for the annual “Pop Montreal” festival. With plans on expanding their fanbase, the Comedy is planning shows in other Canadian cities for a 2012 tour. http
