The Coloured Lights are a five piece rock band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Starting out recording demos in a Toronto basement in May 2005, they have performed over 80 live shows across their home provinces of Ontario and Quebec. This past summer, the band attracted the attention of Upp Records, a small independent Montreal record label, and this led to the recording of their first studio EP, "A Six Track Demo". After some success and a lot of teeth-baring, "Twelve Steps to Space" was released in November 2007, and is available now as a free download at TwelveStepsToSpace.com. More... In late 2006, independent radio and the podcast community responded positively to "A Six Track Demo", giving the demo regular airplay. Specifically, the record was received enthusiastically at University Campus radio in Toronto, Montreal, Kitchener, Guelph and London as well as at commercial radio stations in Denmark, Italy, England and Portugal. Notable performances have been the two on-air live performances at 89.5 CIUT Radio Toronto leading up to the two exciting showcase performances organized by Upp Records at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto and the Café Campus in Montreal. Last spring's university campus tour saw the band play to student crowds across Ontario and Quebec supported by a sponsorship with Mazda.
