The Collaboration Project is a project spin-off of the SellaBand Music Community site: www.sellaband.com/collaborations-cd. On SellaBand Artists can look for a funding of an Album by fans/investors (there called 'Believers'). The Collaboration Project is doing this by creating songs solely as collaborations between Sellaband artists. All songs should be considered to be of 'demo' quality to the moment the required funds are collected and a selection of these songs are professionally produced. If you like, what you hear, you can become a part of it by buying a 'part' (1 out of 5000 10$ chunks making out the budget and entitling you of a CD from the finished album and a share on future profits). # The Collaboration Project This experiment merits attention for its transparent approach to how music gets made and funded. Rather than presenting polished finished work, it invites listeners into an early stage where ideas still have rough edges—offering genuine insight into artistic process. The model itself proves intellectually interesting: by pairing SellaBand artists and letting community investment directly determine which demos advance to professional production, it collapses traditional boundaries between creator, audience, and patron. The resulting songs carry an authenticity that emerges from genuine creative partnership rather than hierarchical assignment. For anyone curious about how musicians actually collaborate, how communities shape art, or how digital platforms might reimagine creative economics, this project functions as both document and laboratory.
