The Clauberg Opera formed on the Bransholme Estate in Hull, in 2002. They grew up absorbing the influence of both their surroundings and many different types of music, from The Cure, Killing Joke, Neurosis and CRASS. After debuting three tracks on their Myspace account, Neurosis frontman Steve Von Till was moved to praise their "heavy psyche", while the first live airings of these songs resulted in one journalist claiming the band have "the power to temporarily disrupt the wakeful beta wave state".
