In February, 2009, the Reverend Eepie Acob found himself in the filth, poverty and despair named Milwaukee, Wisconsin with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and the clothes on his back. He had been forcibly removed from his home church in Northern Wisconsin due to what can only be described as "indiscretions." Having always been a hard-drinking man and with no other shelter, the Reverend passed out in an alleyway a mere hours after his arrival in the city… unable to otherwise cope with the pitiful and sickening existences he witnessed around him. Two passersby and fellow drunks happened upon his body... face down in a pool of his own blood and piss. Upon waking, the Reverend told the drunks that only two options existed. Either he would single-handedly rid the city of all the useless and parasitic souls in a bloody massacre or he would found a church in Milwaukee to again spread his gospel. Knowing they would be counted amongst the fallen should the Reverend commence his murderous rage, the drunks suggested they start a roving congregation. The three of them would travel the countryside to promote a message of unending sadness for the wretched state of humanity and its glorious, forthcoming annihilation. Thus, The Church of Abject Sorrow was born. After a year of rehearsing, self-loathing and cultish masochism, The Church of Abject Sorrow recorded and released their debut collection of psalms, Blessed Sacrament.
