"The Cheques” A musical group form Alexandria, Louisiana, USA. Formed in the 60's. Records include "Funky Munky" "Deeper" "Sweet Sally Brown" "Cool My Desire" "A thousand Miles Away" . To the best of my recollection they were made up mainly of Air Force individuals that were stationed at England Air Force Base, but some local individuals did play as well. "Funky Munky" was a very popular hit and I think it may have gone gold, but do not quote me on that. Alexandria was also known for the other musical groups from this era as well. The Stepping Stones, The Dimensions, The Front Page News, The Lovin I, The Capris, and The Brick Walls, just to name a few. Swamp Pop and Blue Eyed Soul as well as top 40 hits were played by these groups.
