Artist
The Charmettes were a New York City-based trio who cut songs for Hi, Marlin, and World Artists, among other labels. The impassioned "Stop the Wedding" was their 1965 entry on the latter label, a soulful piece of girl group melodrama with a dense arrangement and a beautiful lead vocal performance, especially in the spoken part -- these Charmettes are not to be confused with a Midwestern outfit of the same name. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
