The Cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer sung these songs for the musical episode, "Once More With Feeling," on the long running TV show. It was written and directed by Joss Whedon, the creator of the show. The lyrics and music were also written by Whedon, with a score by Christophe Beck and arrangements by Beck and Jesse Tobias. It was first broadcast (as the seventh episode of season six) by the United Paramount Network on November 6, 2001. The episode was a homage to many classic musicals such as Rent, The Music Man and West Side Story to name a few. Joss Whedon reportedly discovered his actor's singing talents after a "wine-charged" Shakespeare reading and the jam session that ensued at his house.
