The Capital Beat is a Finnish 8-piece machine of pulsating riddims combining elements of authentic ska, reggae and soul that evokes memories of old Jamaican music with a new and fresh twist. The band was formed in the summer of 2007 and by the midst of 2008 the band had performed at the most respected clubs and indie festivals in Finland and driven people (and their feet) to the brink of lunacy with their mind-boggling ska-show. The bands yet unreleased material has already been played widely outside the Finnish borders, hitting the airwaves on collage radio in the US as well as trough smaller stations in Europe, Asia and Australia. The Capital Beat has opened up for greats like Mad Caddies, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Reel Big Fish, The Levellers and their good friends The Valkyrians and the band is soon heading out on its first European tour.
