The Busy World is a unique collaboration hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Their music continues to develop out of the distinct and varied musical minds of Mark, Andrew, Paul, and Andy (as well as former members Trevor and Derek). Each of them comes to the table with a wide variety of influences and creative impulses that have melded together to produce their distinct style. Imagine New York City in the 1920's except 4 guys from North Carolina instead of hundreds of thousands of immigrants from all reaches of the globe. They don't want to create music that sounds like anything that already exists. They try to stretch the boundaries of conventional sound and fight to stay on the cutting edge of music. The Busy World seeks to convey the understanding of music as art, and that it calls for an exploration of all the sounds possible. They hope to add a new feeling and experience with each instrument they add. Music is their lifestyle, not just something they do twice a week and every other weekend. By lots of practicing, writing, recording, booking shows, playing shows, going to other shows, and just hanging out with other bands and musicians, the Busy World wants to break away from convention and wants to convince all you listeners that it was a good idea.
