The Burton Cool Suit were formed in mid-2003 when Adem K and Stu Loasby from the ashes of Turnstyle and the short lived Frantics realized that their common interest in '60's Beatpop and garage rock was too good to ignore. They formed a band with Adrian MacMillan (ex-The Rainyard) and Nat Carson (The Bank Holidays) and called themselves The Burton Cool Suit. Using left over Turnstyle riffs and totally new creations rehearsed and gigged solidly throughout 2004 and soon booked some studio time with producer/engineer and good friend Laurie Sinagra in a North Perth studio (affectionately titled 'Headquarters' after The Monkees, album of the same name) and set to work on making their first album. 'The Burton Cool Suit' was released independently in May 2005 to excellent reviews and a spot on RTR FM as album of he week. Following the release the band started playing some prestigious shows about town including RTRs, In The Pines (alongside The Kill Devil Hills, The Panda Band, Schvendes and more) and supports with Idlewild and Youth Group. More recently the band supported acclaimed American singer/songwriter popsmith Stephen Malkmus at the Fly By in December 2005. The band have rehearsed and recorded a substantial portion of new material under their own direction and again using the services of Laurie Sinagra, but also engineering much of the recordings themselves. Their second album which should see a release early in 2007 preceeded by a single later in 2006. If you didn't like the
