Formed in spring 2007, The Brutalists are a three-piece garage rock band from north west England. They take inspiration from many bands particularly, Kings Of Leon, The White Stripes, The Stooges and The Beatles and their music mixes mundane lyrics and punchy riffs to create a sound comparable to the old garage rock bands of the 60s but with a fresh approach. One online music reviewer affectionately described them as being "rough as arseholes", comparing them to such classic punk rock bands as MC5 and The Clash, "Artists with somthing to say".
