The British IBM released their début album, August 2012. Recorded at Half-Ton Studios in Cambridge with acclaimed producer Neil 'Bugs' Rogers, the release consists of 10 original tracks, featuring a wide selection of special guests. The first single to be released from the album, 'Animal', has been warmly received by critics and fans alike, backed by a lively cartoon video made by Jose C at Rivertoons. The British IBM was formed by retro enthusiast and singer-songwriter Aidy as a way of combining his two passions; indie rock and vintage computing. Joined by an innovative rhythm section featuring bassist David and drummer Paul, the trio have been performing and touring together for two years as 'Aidy' before The British IBM was officially born on the 1st January 2012. Prior to forming The British IBM, Aidy has enjoyed success as a solo artist, releasing multiple albums and building a loyal fan base in the process. Previous projects include releasing a single sold only on a 3.5” disc, and the 2010 'Song A Week' project which saw the artist release a new song every Friday for an entire year. The result is a 53-track album, simply titled, 'Song A Week' which is available as a free download at www.aidy.com User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
