Formed a year ago at the bottom of Manchester seabed, chief bottom Natalie Sharp inspired by mutant fish that live on the seabed with no food or daylight. Taking the idea that we can get by with little or nothing. The six-piece fishathon comprises of an array of instruments including the saw, Jews’ harp, kazoo, bass, guitar, drums, coconuts, cello and trombone. Likened to the inner workings of Tim Burtons mind and Spinal tap. When asked what kind of music they perform Natalie Sharp’s best answer is “A car boot sale” After regular visits to see Billy Childish and The Buff Medways at London’s Dirty Water club Natalie became inspired and encouraged by the Idea of a garage style band combined with theatrical stage performance. Knowing next to nothing about instruments and of the firm belief that you have to unlearn to learn. The Bottomfeeders have played a pond full of Manchester venues and are looking to swim to other cities to promote their forthcoming LP.
