Formed in 1955, the Bobettes were an R&B Girl Group. Their biggest hit was 1957's "Mr. Lee", which appeared in the Top Ten pop chart and reached #1 on the R&B chart in the United States. Although a handful of their subsequent singles charted, the Bobettes never again approached the success of "Mr. Lee." The group disbanded in 1974.
