In 2004, P.T. Walkley and Chris Daly of the New York City based band Track Rabbit (Daly also was a member of Jets To Brazil) got together with Long Island bassist Chris Cereda and rhythm guitarist Jack Dime to enjoy a more straight-up, stripped-down, rock-n-roll sound. What they found were The Blue Jackets. PT, who had been composing a score for Ed Burns' film The Groomsmen, was simultaneously fine tuning the very first song The Blue Jackets recorded together "Four Cheers". when Mr. Burns heard the song, he thought it would be the perfect song for the critical tail credits sequence. That song is included on the movie soundtrack, which is being released this June by Ryko Disk, and Mr. Burns then directed the video for the single. In addition, The Blue Jackets contributed a cover of the Dave edmunds song "I Hear You Knocking" to The Groomsmen soundtrack, and they have also licensed two more songs to Burn's upcoming film "Purple Violets" starring Selma Blair, Debra Messing, Patrick Wilson, and Burns. The Blue Jackets plan on releasing their first full length LP "Shadows Of The City" in the fall of '06. All members of The Blue Jackets were raised on Long Island, New York.
