Artist
Dynamo indie folk songs to set your soul ablaze. The Blind Window is led by the award-winning multi-instrumentalist, Brian Katz, whose songs are energetic, passionate, and skillful. His music is reminiscent of the current indie folk scene, but has a fresh sound recorded in Central America. While living and working abroad in Honduras as a history teacher from 2010 to 2012, Brian Katz performed and recorded what was to become his first release, "San Pedro Sula Sessions EP". These songs were inspired by his experiences living in Central America and the historical narratives he taught to his 8th grade students at that time. Always a musician, the isolation of living in a far off place gave Brian the perfect chance to hone his craft. He self-released some of his demos in 2011 and was awarded a semi-finalist position in the International Songwriting Competition of 2011 for his tune, "There Have Been Times". In July 2012, Brian debuted his first extended release, "San Pedro Sula Sessions" to great acclaim. In August 2012, The Blind Window will be performing live in the greater Toronto area and will be recording his first full-length album User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
