Artist
There are multiple artists with this name: 1) The Big Four were a mbaqanga group from Hammarsdale (South Africa) featuring Moses Dlamini, Hamilton Nzimande (Nzimande All Stars), Isaac Luvuno, and Brown Duma. The group is perhaps best known for their 1972 track, "Woza Friday". 2) A Belgium-Dutch rock band "The Belgium-Dutch formation The Big Four, named after the New Orleans rhythm, are 5 musicians with an equally strong sense of musicianship. This unique combination of musicians brings out a magical atmosphere that can be felt throughout the whole album." "J.B. started out some 20 years ago together with his lifelong friend Bird, while Mo, together with his brother Frankie, had their own taxidermy shop before they picked up guitar playing and drumming. Dr. Basie has a PhD in postmodern psychiatry but decided to concentrate on piano playing after he realized most problems (including his own) are nothing more than social constructs (sic). They all met on the set of Boogie Nights, where they served as extras." (cd inlay texxt) The album "The Congregation Sessions" was released in 2008. They were present in the dutch radio show "Spijkers met koppen" on september 6th 2008. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
