The BBC Big Band is group comprised of professional musicians and organized by the British Broadcasting Company. The group has been performing regularly since 1977. Their television show Big Band Special is the best source of notoriety although they reach a worldwide audience through album releases and BBC Worldwide. BBC Big Band has been voted Best Big Band in the British Jazz Awards in 1992, 1994, 1997, 1997, 2001, and 2007.
