The Bat Kings is an ever-evolving, electronic music chameleon which takes on the image of whatever its creator, E.J. Martino, happens to enjoy listening to that week. E.J. hails from Long Island, NY. Influenced by "whatever enters my ears, changes something in my heart & leaves, violently, through my feet", he created The Bat Kings in 2009, with his earliest tracks rough and video-gamey. E.J. kept at it, teaching himself day by day how to operate audio software, and as the years progressed, he picked up a little more skill, and is "still evolving, but I'm getting closer to where I should be." The story behind the name is a little piece of fiction, involving three bat-like overlords who descended from a mountain so tall it touched the stars, to lay their hands on a mortal man and give him gifts of musical ability in order to change the way the world thinks. With much more progress to make, E.J. does not reject the possibility of collaborating with anyone, and he has released some of his own lyrics, but, at this time, lacks the proper studio equipment to record anything "worth showing off".
