The Bashful are a NY based Rock/Pop/Electro band comprised of songwriter/frontwoman Sam Shaber and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Stan Blackett. The band was formed when Blackett, formerly the frontman for the Hard Rock band Stray Volts became disinterested in singing lead vocals and decided to focus more on songwriting and instrumentation. At the same time, Sam Shaber from the band the happy problem was recently relocating back to NY after a long stint in LA. Blackett and Shaber met after she replied to an ad he placed looking for a female vocalist, and the rest is history. The band, accompanied by drummer Matt Wolf recorded their debut EP: Venture, in spring 2010. They like to describe their sound as post- punk radical dance rock with a dash of '80s and a whole lot of new.
