The Atre (2008 - 2009) A modern hard rock band with influences in metal and other genres. Founded in the summer of 2008 under the title "Inmate". The original members being:- John Fleming Matthew Barras Matthew "Linky" Linklater Josh Elcock Elliott Connelly However, due to differences in opinion, the band entered hiatus. Six months later, armed with some new members, they returned. They formed the band known today as "The Atre". The current members include: John Fleming (Vocals) Matthew "Baz" Barras (Guitars and Keys) Matthew "Linky" Linklater (Guitars and Percussion) James Coppin (Bass) Jake "Eats Enough for an Army" Flynn (Drums) The Atre hope to be releasing an EP in early 2010 featuring their own material including the anthemic "Good Times" and groovier "Together There's No Misery" and some covers by such bands as KISS. Following "arguments" between the singer and the drummer and rhythm guitarist the band announced that they had split up the day after a gig at a local rugby club. The band have collectively decided to concentrate on their other projects and, thus, will not be continuing any work together for the forseeable future, despite the continued support from fans who The Atre thank but have firmly rejected any claims that this is a stunt.
