From myspace.com/theatomicnumbers: Rising out of the Detroit pop scene in 1997 with the intention of single-handedly saving rock music, the A#'s bring an arsenal of guitar fury & crafty songwork to their mix of Rhodes electric piano and wicked-awesome harmonies. Far from pure "rock revivalism," the band is always eager to explore non-traditional structures and instrumentation... but never at the expense of raw power. Their furious & frenetic live shows have left a trail of carnage from New York to Nebraska. The band released their first full-length CD "Electromotive" in early 2000, which was met with critical acclaim by the US rock press and bent the ear of a few major labels. One such label, RCA, funded a series of expensive and ill-advised recordings, the fruit of which has yet to be heard - until now. Citing creative differences and frustration over the experience, the members went their separate ways, pursuing various projects like fingerpainting and holistic medicine. The band is currently on an indefinite hiatus as they explore the inifinite possibilities of capitalism. Tim is living with his woman in an apartment in sunny Denver, CO, working on his doctoral thesis, and planning a solo disc. He also has a cat, I am told. Jeff is living with wife and cherubic anklebiters out in the suburbs, working for the man, recording acid-jazz tape loops in his basement. He was playing drums with The Rioteers at first, then bass, but finally quit after being forcibly demoted t
