There are two bands under the same name -- 1. The Assistant were a fantastic screamo band from the late 90's, based out of New Jersey. Members went on to join/form bands like The Jonah Complex. Guitarist, Thomas R. Schlatter, Ex-You and I, went on to form Wrong Day to Quit, This Ship Will Sink, In First Person, Black Kites and is currently playing in Capacities and Less Life. 2. Assistant from Brighton And Hove, UK, are Pete, Jonathan and Anne- Sophie. They formed in 2002 and have released four LPs to date. Assistant have been compared to Felt, Yo La Tengo, Stereolab and Blur and produce their own fanzine, In The April Sun.
